Abstract: Dysfunctional miR-9 expression remains ambiguous, and no consensus on the metastatic progression of ovarianresults confirmed that miR-9 could directly target this 3′-UTR. miR-9 and E-cadherin expression in ovarianThe results showed that miR-9 was frequently upregulated in metastatic serous ovarian cancer tissue comparedThus, our study demonstrates that miR-9 may promote ovarian cancer metastasis via targeting E-cadherinand a novel potential therapeutic approach to control metastasis of ovarian cancer.

ECRG4: a new potential target in precision medicine

Xin Qin, Ping Zhang

Frontiers of Medicine 2019, Volume 13, Issue 5,   Pages 540-546 doi: 10.1007/s11684-018-0637-9

Abstract: Given the rapid development in precision medicine, tremendous efforts have been devoted to discovering new biomarkers for disease diagnosis and treatment. Esophageal cancer-related gene-4 ( ), which is initially known as a new candidate tumor suppressor gene, is emerging as a sentinel molecule for gauging tissue homeostasis. ECRG4 is unique in its cytokine-like functional pattern and epigenetically-regulated gene expression pattern. The gene can be released from the cell membrane upon activation and detected in liquid biopsy, thus offering considerable potential in precision medicine. This review provides an updated summary on the biology of ECRG4, with emphasis on its important roles in cancer diagnosis and therapy. The future perspectives of ECRG4 as a potential molecular marker in precision medicine are also discussed in detail.

Abstract: Laser polishing is a technology of smoothening the surface of various materials with highly intense laserWhen these beams impact on the material surface to be polished, the surface starts to be melted due tomelted material is then relocated from the ‘peaks to valleys’ under the multidirectional action of surfaceparameters such as beam intensity, energy density, spot diameter, and feed rate, different rates of surfacerelied for smoothening of initial topography of the surfaces irrespective of the complexity of the surface
